La Pavoni stainless naked bottomless portafilter 49 mm

La Pavoni naked bottomless portafilter 49 mm is suitable for all La Pavoni OLD GEN / Pre Mill machines, plus Elektra Mcal or Olympia Cremina 67 or Cremina new gen.

The product is made of pure stainless steel 304 and offers the user:

1. The chance to see any extraction errors that can occur during pull;
2. The usage of bigger and deeper baskets, that can hold a lot more ground coffee, like the tall triple 20-22 grams baskets;
3. Improves personal experience by obtaining a much better look and new quality feel, comparing to any OEM nakeds or bottomless on the market.

We now use a chrome-like mirror finish, achieved through a special polishing compound selected to ensure the highest possible quality and appearance.

The La Pavoni 49 mm naked bottomless portafilter is compatible with all Pre-Millennium La Pavoni Professional and Europiccola espresso machines (manufactured prior to the year 2000).

This portafilter is compatible with our wooden handles, as well as any other M12 female-thread handles available on the market. Please note that excessively long handles may come into contact with the lever arm during insertion or rotation.

The handle connector thread size is M12. Please verify compatibility before purchasing, as some older original La Pavoni handles used on first-generation machines from the 1960s and 1970s feature a smaller M10 thread.

Please make sure this product is compatible with your existing plastic or wooden handle before placing your order.

The naked portafilter is shipped with our custom-made black plastic handle, exactly as shown in the main product image. The plastic handle is included free of charge and is always part of the package. Please note that no basket is included by default.

We kindly ask customers not to request small discounts in exchange for removing the included black plastic handle. The handle is complimentary and remains part of the standard product configuration.

Disclaimer & Recommendation when purchasing a new portafilter or basket for your coffee machine

We strongly recommend our customers to purchase at the same time with this product, a new filterholder gasket and at least one teflon spacer found here and here – click one or both words HERE, to be redirected to the products page.

While the listing includes the retaining clip, so that the basket will not slip / fall out easily from inside of the PF, we do not include the gasket or spacer into the price.

Over time, gaskets naturally harden or lose elasticity, which can affect how easily (or tightly) the portafilter fits into the group head. Replacing the gasket and using the spacer (in case needed) ensures proper sealing, optimal pressure, and consistent performance of your machine.

For Olympia Cremina machines or La Pavoni Pre-Millennium models, we also recommend the same, by purchasing one or two Teflon shims, to help properly accommodate either the original or any custom portafilter setup.

Regular maintenance and correct fitting parts will help extend your machine’s lifespan and improve overall espresso quality.

The above gaskets and shims have been tested only on La Pavoni Pre-Millennium machines and both old and new Olympia Cremina models. They have not been tested on Elektra Micro Casa a Leva or any other 49 mm espresso machines.

Regarding the newer portafilter design with the larger exterior diameter, created to visually match the exterior line of the group head, we would like to clarify an important aspect based on two previous customer complaints.

Due to the internal groove design and locking mechanism of certain group heads, the naked portafilter may not always align perfectly with the outer line of the group head once locked into position.

In some cases, the portafilter can sit slightly to the left, right, forward, or back, while engaged.

This is a characteristic of the machine’s internal group head construction and tolerances, rather than a defect of the portafilter itself. Our products, being CNC machines, is perfectly round of course.

For this reason, we cannot accept returns or complaints related to slight alignment differences.

Our intention with this design is to provide the best possible visual integration and finish, while working within the tolerances and variations of original machine constructions.

As a result, a perfectly flush alignment may not always be achievable on every individual machine.
