Great
Works as expected
Just Making the E61 Better
Very beautifully crafted flow control with great build quality. Installation was so easy and fast. Experimenting with different flow profiles has turn out some amazing shots. It's a must have for all E61 machines in my opinion.
Good experience
Fast shipping to Norway, received in 24 hours. So far it is working well on my ECM Puristika. High quality impression. Installation was easy. The handle operation needed some time to settle in order to run smooth from closed to max open. Only very minor gripe is that I am not able to adjust the handle so that it matches stock flow rate at 3 o clock precisely🙂
Very good experience
Top quality products, fast shipping, excellent communication. Recommended.
It’s ok but didn’t work for me.
Put it on My Lelit Mara X finally and was not able to get it to work for what I wanted. Flows much faster than the Mara so would be better on a dual boiler setup.

Control the finest coffee notes with E61 flow control devices
One of the barista’s biggest pet peeves about the standard method of brewing coffee is that hot water passes through grind too quickly or too slow, resulting in a “burn” like or sour tasting drink. But now, our flow control kits for E61 group heads are the best way to regulate and thus profile how much and how fast water is going to flow out of your espresso maker at any given time. Shop for one with Coffee Sensor to have it all to adjust the flow rates and serve coffee you will be proud of.
What is a flow control device for E61 group heads?
Coffee machines excel at brewing fantastic morning drinks, lattes, and other beverages. However, they aren’t perfect without functionality add-ons and accessories.
An espresso maker uses hot water to brew / extract your coffee. But all details are usually pre set up from the manufacturing process and thus, you cannot intervene or make important changes to the extraction process. Usually machines are set up to bring the hot water from the boiler towards the coffee puck with a 10 bar pressure (9 bar inside the puck) and certain flow rates (standard being around 7.5 ml per sec or maxim 10ml per sec) and at a certain temperature. We will not discuss here the temperature importance or how cold or hot the water should be.
E61 flow control devices solves one of the problems as it allows different flow rates and indirectly a pressure profiling, sending less or more water to enter the machine’s group head. As a result, you can finally enjoy new or more balanced tastes of coffee every time. That’s why having a coffee machine with an E61 flow control kit is a prerequisite to serving totally new or more balanced flavors.
Sour or bitter — Savor your favorite flavor with the E61 flow rate control kit
The flow control device is your go-to device to reveal all coffee notes, depending on the degree of roast, used pressure profile or certain extraction temperatures that you choose to use. If the temperature is too high, the taste of coffee, especially light roast, might turn out a little bit “burned”. If too cold, sour will be the new taste you should experience in the cup.
For other tips on how to make the most of E61 group head flow control, peruse the following:
- Sometimes, light roast coffee may taste a little bit sour. If you don’t like this certain taste note, you can get over it by setting up a slow flow rate of water for 8 seconds. This is what slow pre infusion means.
- To reveal everything a medium roasted coffee has to offer in the cup, hold your E61 flow control handle and profile the extraction at a slow rate for 5 seconds and then slightly increase the water-to-coffee ratio.
- To counteract bitterness in your dark roast coffee, start the extraction process with a high flow rate for 3-5 seconds and gradually reduce it. This is what front load means.
