The thickness of the current product (1.7mm) can be useful for those that also want and need a smaller water flow rate (decreases the OEM rates).

Stainless steel mesh puck screen or contact screen 58.5 for E61/VBM/Gaggia tech details:

• 1.7mm thick 316 stainless steel with 0.05mm (50 micron) multi layered mesh filter;
• Because of its weight (around 18-20 grams), this product will have the tendency to decrease water extraction temperatures, due to it own thermal mass; we recommend an increase of the shot temperature by 2-3 degrees during the first shot especially. Due to this tech detail, you could use the screen only on the second shot. In some machines, the second shot is hotter, and this second screen will counter attack this effect with good results;
• Each mesh is laser printed with our Coffee Sensor logo.

Stainless steel mesh puck screen or contact screen should solve issues, by:

Creating more even and leveled water distribution over the coffee puck;

The water force will not directly impact the coffee puck but rather the screen first;

Keeps your shower screen nice and shinny, since the coffee grounds will almost never leave the zone under the second screen…

Packing is made into a very safe small plastic branded box, with special double layer foam inside.

The second screen sits right between the two layers, in the middle of the box.

Attention: all our second screens are designed to sit above the coffee puck and not under. The size each mesh has is already towards the maximum possible for most baskets available on the market for the coffee machine model / type specified on each the product page. Second screens can sit differently in baskets, depending on coffee grind setting, volume of coffee, tamping and basket shape. In some baskets, the second screen could sit perfectly while in others it’s possible that it will be too large in diameter or maybe a little small then needed.
