To remove the old base and use this one, you’ll need to remove the Heating Element.
If the gaskets under and above the old base and warn, they will need to be replaced as well (each machine uses two same type flat washers with a big diameter).
8 cup boilers have the smaller one and the 16 cup have a larger flat gasket.
We would use some sand paper under the boiler to create friction between the boiler base and boiler body and also silicone under the base, to fix it in a good position and never have the moving base problem afterwards.
Also to have access under the base, note that some La Pavoni base screws have special screws, older model right under the group head and some under the base.
